.Words like Violence.

Break the silence...painful to me.

This is my entry into 's Traum:A contest. You can find out more about it from her journal. [link] I don't really know if it is good enough, and I'm not really keeping my fingers crossed. However, onto a more serious note.

This deviation was intended to portray the effects of violence against women. This could be physical, but what I've tried to convey is more psychological. The effect that domestic violece and crualty can have on a person. I have chosen a female model, not only because it was from the stock we were allowed to use for this contest, but because this kind of trauma is often more inflected upon women, then it is upon men.

I have tried to use symbolism in this work. For example, the rosay, perhaps she is praying to God, or to whomever for this abuse, this trauma to stop.

The black cat represents not only bad luck, but companionshhip, and love. Often the reason why women who are being abused simply cannot escape, they fear to be alone..

The heart on the floor? Well, I'll let you make your own assumptions about this.
